West Hardin County Consolidated ISD hosted the Southeast Texas P-16 Council and its representatives for the very first school P-16 Roundtable, Tuesday, March 23
Superintendent Sharon Tule led off the session with a welcome and overview of the district.
The Roundtable featured three topics:
- Financial Resources for Post Secondary Studies
Christina Elliot , a senior recruiter with Lamar University talked about how students can seek financial aid, giving some little know tips on getting the most out of the process.
Kimberly Bernard, the director of education for the Southeast Texas Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), explained how the industry construction trades school interfaces with construction companies, industry and the school system. She noted that West Hardin ISD has a working relationship with the ABC Ms. Bernard explained there was still a strong need for students to enter into the crafts trade..
